NOTE: To get onto the base you will need your drivers license and car registration (possibly). Make sure you do not have expired tags or car inspection as you will not be able to get on base.

Thursday is Tie-Dye Day at the Park

Don’t forget to bring your WHITE garment (shirt, tank-top, shorts, etc…) to tie-dye on Thursday!!!! We will be set-up at Mounts Bay park so make sure you head on over after your practice! Tie-dyes will be done in team colors and we are planning on wearing these on Monday at our second meet! Please write your name on the tag of your shirt and bring along a plastic bag to store after completion. Lia Dossin and I will be taking these home with us on Thursday to complete the process (special wash for vibrant colors!) and return to you by Monday! If you are unable to attend but still would like a shirt you can give me (or a teammate) your shirt to be processed.

As mentioned before, this is a free activity for all shark team members. However, we are still asking for donations ($5.00-$10.00) to offset the costs of the materials that have made this possible.

First Meet Recap

Congratulations to all the Sharks for a great meet tonight!

It was so much fun to see all of the great swims and all of the cheering being done at the end of the lanes. This is a team with terrific spirit! I admit that I am completely biased toward the 8 and unders – nothing is more exciting than watching a child finish a first race and we had so many great 8 and under races!

Many, many thanks to the parents who worked the meet. It was way too hot but all of you were completely cool under pressure! I wish I could thank everyone by name but if I did this email would go on forever! To those of you who stepped in to help when you weren’t on the schedule – you are the best and we couldn’t run a meet without you! One of the things I love about Shark parents is the number of people who ask if they can help and then simply do it.

I hope you all noticed our extraordinary coaches tonight – they were behind the blocks, then yelling from the side of the pool, then back behind the blocks with the swimmers. We are so fortunate to have them! If you have a moment this week, please make sure to thank them for a job well done.
