Pre-Season Updates

The 2012 Kingsmill Sharks summer swim season is almost here!  Please stop by Mounts Bay Recreation Center between 6:00pm and 8:00pm this Thursday (May 3rd)to register, order your suit and purchase your 2012 newly designed Kingsmill Sharks t-shirt or hoodie!  If you are new to the team, make sure you attend the brief informational session at 7:00pm.  This is a great time to meet Coach Chris Hanks (our Head Coach), learn about the team and ask questions.  Also note that a separate check will need to be written for the swimsuit (made payable to Sports-n-Store) and for the spirit wear(made payable to Kingsmill Sharks Swim Team). 

Practice Schedule

  • Our first practice is on Tuesday, May 29th (the day after Memorial Day).
  • Practices are Monday-Friday.
  • There are NO weekend practices.

May 29 – June 15

  • 4:30-5:15    Ages 8 and under
  • 5:15-6:00    Ages 9 to 12
  • 6:00-7:00    Ages 13 and over

June 18 – end of regular season

  • 8:00-9:15     Ages 13 and over
  • 9:15-10:15   Ages 9-12
  • 10:15-11:00 Ages 8 and under 

Important Dates

Our annual Family Fun Night is scheduled for Friday, June 15th from 6:00-9:00 at Mounts Bay pool.  This is the kickoff event of the season!   Pizza will be provided and pool games are part of the agenda!  This is a great team-building event and an excellent opportunity for new and returning families to experience the excitement of the season!  Please mark your calendars and be on the lookout for an “evite” with details in early June!

 

We are hosting the very first meet of the season on Monday, June 18th against Stonehouse.

Reminder! Thursday, May 3rd is Registration Night!

Please join us Thursday, May 3rd between 6:00 and 8:00 for the 2012 Kingsmill Sharks Registration.   This will be held at Mounts Bay Rec Center!  There will be a brief informational session for new parents at 7:00.  We will have our NEW t-shirt available to purchase (limited number for “cash and carry”) and our team suit vendor will be taking orders for team suits.

2012 Registration and Team Information

This beautiful weather reminds us that swim team is just around the corner!  Swim team practices will begin on Tuesday, May 29th (the day after Memorial Day!).  We hope to see all our swimmers return for another fantastic, fun summer and hope to see new families too!   Registration will be on Thursday, May 3rd at  Mounts Bay Recreation Center from 6pm-8pm with an information session . 
 
The registration fees will remain the same for the 2012 season- $115 per swimmer and $10 for the newly designed  t-shirt (optional). Our team swim suit is the same as last year-TYR Aurora in GREEN.  The suit can be ordered from Harold Baker with Sports-n-Store (229-8662).  The prices are as follows:
  • Female Suit $49.50
  • Male Jammer $34.50
  • Male Brief $32.00
 
Lastly, we are looking for volunteers to help out with a few of the activities (family fun night, team spirit activities, awards party, etc) and deck officials (stroke and turn and scoring).  Please contact Kara Burrows at ckburrows@cox.net if you are interested in taking on an additional role.  Please remember that the success of the team directly relates to the amount of parents we have helping out!
