Hi Shark Families,
Saturday at the Summer Awards Meet, forty super fast Sharks showed up earning Kingsmill 3rd place!. Way to go! Despite the high temperature most of the Sharks improved times and a few dropped enough time to earn a spot in Sunday’s VPSU Championship meet. Once again, a huge thanks goes out to the parents and coaches!
We are looking forward to seeing everyone Friday night at 5:15pm for the Awards Banquet and Pool Party. The evening will start with awards and the slideshow in the Mounts Bay recreation room followed by fun, music and food poolside. The end of the season DVD will be available in limited supply for $10 each. Also, the team pictures will be available for pick up for those who pre-ordered.
Below are the details for the upcoming VPSU Championship Meet.
Please read the attached meet information sheet. One of the most important items to note is to be prepared (have it ready) to show the Security Officers your valid driver’s license and Vehicle Registration card, and identification for all persons over 16 years of age. Also know where your insurance card and pink state inspection cards are – just in case. Make sure everything is current. The base speed limit is 25 mph, and no cell phone use by drivers is permitted while driving.

Team Base Camp-Plan to arrive early for warm-ups so you will have enough time to get settled. Our team based camp will be set up outside of the pool in the grassy field. We will be setting up two tents for shade. Be sure to bring chairs, sunscreen, a cooler (the concession stand is very limited), and entertainment between events. Encourage your swimmer wear his/her “green” shark shirt to show our team spirit!
Work Commitments-Please review the attached work scheduled. If you are unable to work during your assigned time, please feel free to switch amongst yourselves.
Good luck to all the swimmers!
